Vehicle Diagnostics

Diagnostics is the process of gathering evidence before deciding what repair is appropriate. It can include a customer interview, visual inspection, electronic scan, battery and charging tests, road-test observations and targeted component checks.

Diagnostic workflow

We begin with the reported symptom and vehicle history, then select relevant checks. A diagnostic trouble code is treated as a clue rather than automatic proof that a particular part must be replaced.

Canadian operating conditions

Cold starts, seasonal temperature swings, road salt, moisture and long-distance driving can affect batteries, brakes, suspension, tires and electrical connections. These conditions are considered when discussing maintenance and inspection priorities.

What customers receive

Customers should receive a plain-language explanation of observed symptoms, test results, recommended next steps and any limitations of the inspection. Additional repair work should be authorized separately.
